Ol’ Dirty Kitten and Cat-landos d’Amour.
Kittenmind and Hiss.
Having read the first two books in the “Guardians of Childhood” series (where is the promised third?), I can’t wait to see this movie even though they look a bit different.
As expected, the books go into more depth. Nicholas isn’t quite Santa Claus yet, though he is well on his way, and the books include a wise wizard and a brave girl, Katherine, who could be the young version of Mother Goose.
E. Aster Bunnymund is a warrior in both, though more bad ass in the movie, judging by the clips. No sign of Jack Frost or Sandman yet in the books but Chris Pine sounds perfect as the cold-creating imp.
Since one of my favorite animated films, “Meet the Robinsons”, is based on a novel by William Joyce, creator the “Guardians of Childhood” series, and it’s being brought to the big screen through the creators of “How to Train Your Dragon” it really looks like a wonderful film, albeit a bit different than the books. I sincerely hope it does well and, perhaps, is start of a series of films based on the books.
